Youth Together Against AIDS is a program uniting young people from Cameroon, South Africa, Uganda, and the United States around the common goal of stopping the spread of HIV and ending the stigma of AIDS. CETRUD works with schools to help spread the word student-to-student on how to avoid getting this devastating disease. Every year we organize activities for the youth from schools in Kasese and the youth from Karusandara to come to the Koft Centre, where they help people living with AIDS to make gardens and dig water wells. During their stay at the center, the students also put on educational presentations, stage dramas, read poems, and have discussions. And they play soccer and netball with the village youth, many of whom have been orphaned by AIDS. These activities are helping us reduce the stigma of AIDS in the village.
